Sorry there's no pictures...
But imagine Cory wearing a bright, tight, neon green riding shirt.
Yesterday, Cory took me on my first training ride here in Boise. We had one road bike and one mountain bike. It was just a short ride. I took the road bike for the first part and then we switched.
I learned a few things: First, riding a road bike is much, much, much easier than riding a mtn. bike. When it was my turn to ride the mtn. bike, Cory zoomed away from me on the road bike. I was dying trying to keep up. Cory waited for me at a stop sign and when I finally caught up, he asked, "Did you fall down or something?" Dick.
I don't know how else to say the other important thing I learned: Riding killed my ass. We only rode a few miles and I could hardly sit down at the end. I was doing the thing where you stand and petal. Then I'd cruise a little without petalling and Cory would pull even farther ahead. Especially now, a day later, it hurts to sit.
How does meeting in Portland on July 31st sound? That's a Saturday. That means that we would begin riding on Sunday and finish riding the following Saturday. We'll just go as far South as we can. So, you could schedule flights out of San Francisco for Sunday, August 8th. Let me know what you think.

is anyone building a bike?
I don't know if any of you are trying to put together a bike, but I have some spare parts laying around for anyone who will actually use them. I have a full-carbon fork (uncut), maybe some pedals, and some other stuff. If anyone needs any stuff to put together (or upgrade) a road bike, let me know and I'll figure out what all I have and post a list. Free to anyone who can use any of it.

Sexy and Cheap.
You can custom build your own bike in seconds for only $400. Great for looks/city riding, not so much for our Oregon trip. (These bikes are single speed/fixed gear) Check out the website:

Mission bikes is a great one as well. But cost more. Check it out.

Oregon Coast Bike Route Map
Check out this link for a great Oregon Coast bike route map. It gives us information on distance, elevation, campgrounds, showers, bike shops. It's legit.

Clip from the Goonies
This is a clip from The Goonies. If you watch carefully, you can see a couple of shots of some scenery we might experience on our trip. Also, you can see the importance of knowing how to change/prevent flat tires.

Get on Your Bikes and Ride!
I am assuming that it is safe to say, that most of the Creekers have bikes that might not be worth shipping on the plane for our Creeker Coaster Ride. I ride a mid 70's Canadian made beauty. I love it endlessly and I have all the faith in the world it could make the trip without any problem. Carden has a nice ride, but would probably not want to ride a fixie. And Tyler is talking about taking a Mountain Bike. I am sure we could all use what we have and make this a true scrappy Creeker event; but Mike and I were talking about this, and were thinking we should look into the possibility of all renting super fantastic bikes in Boise and taking them to the start point by trailer. That way no one will have to ship their bikes. (which might cost the same as renting????) It is something to look into......
Also I like Levi's idea w/ the Suburban and trailer. If there are more Creekers then seats, we could also rent a 15 passenger van and still use Levi's trailer, or, I can look into borrowing my pops RV, and last option, I own a 70 passenger school bus.

Jared + Angela
Jared, thanks for getting married to bring all the Creekers together to play the most ultimate game of football ever. We know that was your true intention all along. You chose the best (and hottest) girl for the charade; and she is the perfect addition to the Creeker family. Congratulations Jared! We love you.
